KARACHI: With reference to your editorial, “CEC’s resignation” (August 2), I would like to know why Justice (retd) Fakhruddin G Ebrahim did not resign before the recent presidential election, when he saw that his associates did not want to act according to the Constitution. If he did not agree with the Supreme Court’s decision to hold the presidential election earlier than the date wanted by the opposition, he should have resigned immediately and then he would have been remembered as a man of principles. Unfortunately, he did not do so and we, the people, are the losers.
