The army’s job is to govern the country’s frontiers, not to issue demands to the elected government.
ISLAMABAD: This is with reference to a report in your newspaper of October 2 quoting a story in a British newspaper according to which the military has asked the government to dismiss ministers against whom charges of corruption have been proven or those whose reputations are not clean. I think we should not be so impatient and disillusioned with the nascent democracy that has come to Pakistan after such a long struggle. Give it a chance. The army’s job is to govern the country’s frontiers, not to issue demands to the elected government.
