
If history has anything to do with the education of people, then we do not necessarily need to start from scratch.
WUHAN, CHINA: This is with reference to Yaqoob Khan Bangash’s article “An impatient nation”. The writer has talked about the evolution of democracy in Britain, which happened over many centuries and believes that we should be patient for democracy to take roots in Pakistan.
While it did take 1,000 years for the evolution of the idea of democracy in Britain, once it had evolved, I do not think it requires centuries for its implementation and operation in other communities/nations. If history has anything to do with the education of people, then we do not necessarily need to start from scratch.
