The Pakistani Warren Buffets

Letter July 22, 2013
Due to their high demand, the books continue to be reprinted and distributed free of charge.

KARACHI: This refers to the Speaker’s Corner piece “The Pakistani Warren Buffets” (July 19) written by Kazim Alam. Mr Alam laments the “dearth of books on Pakistani entrepreneurs and companies”. He found only one such book. For his information, the 21st Century Business and Economics Club has published and distributed gratis books on business personalities, such as Saifuddin Zoomkawala (Chairman of EFU Insurance), Aftab Tapal (Chairman of Tapal Tea), Amina Saiyid (Chief Executive Officer of Oxford Printing), Tariq Kirmani (former Chief Executive Officer of Pakistan State Oil) and Dr Ishrat Hussain (former governor of the State Bank of Pakistan and Director of the Institute of Business Administration). The latest book on a prominent business leader is under process. In fact, the book on Mr Zoomkawala has been updated and published anew.

It is pertinent to mention here that all these books had the approval of these eminent personalities and were launched at largely attended functions. Due to their high demand, the books continue to be reprinted and distributed free of charge. Please also note that the subjects of these books are not charged for any contribution. It is the hallmark of the 21st Century Business and Economics Club to bear all costs and expenses without any membership fees or liabilities.
