There is no point in having a democratic government when no one is bothered about solving problems of the common man.
MILTON, ONTARIO, CANADA: This is with reference to the story “Offer derailed: Govt refuses to take on $112m Pak Railways debt” (July 19). The government should start thinking of privatising enterprises like the Railways, PIA and the Steel Mills and stick to solving more important issues like health, education, the law and order situation, and above all, corruption. There is no point in having a democratic government when no one is bothered about solving the problems of the common man. The only solution which the present government has is to sell off all state-owned companies to the private sector and start repaying loans to the IMF, as well as investing money in the energy sector, and in improving health facilities, education and employment for youth.
