This war on terror has engulfed the smiles, giggles and laughter of our young ones.
KARACHI: The Guru Mandir blast in Karachi on July 11 may have killed the president’s security chief but it has also killed the father of my student. I really feel for this child who has lost his father at such a tender age. I know many of us will say that everyday people die in this country and ask what is so special about this casualty.
This war on terror has engulfed the smiles, giggles and laughter of our young ones.
Above all, it has snatched hope from our younger generation. Our leaders proudly boast that we are a young nation and have a lot of potential. My question is why can’t they see what is happening to that young nation? Its future is being scarred. From being normal, this nation is being made special, and all for the wrong reasons.
To our leaders, their own children are so special that they are raised outside this country. Our leaders go and meet their children abroad as it is too risky to call them here. But what about the children of those who cannot afford to do that?
