The whole system is against the victim of rape crimes.
ISLAMABAD: This is with reference to the piece “Reliving the rape: A damaged psyche” (July 8). The whole system is against the victim of rape crimes. Flawed laws, evidence requirements that are often impossible to fulfil, biased interpretation of religious law by scholars, a corrupt and rotten police and justice system and apathy of the rulers, together have ensured that culprits often go unpunished.
The end result is that the incident of rape is rampant in this country and the crime often goes unpunished in this so-called and hypocrite Islamic republic. This state of affairs is truly shameful and disgraceful for all of us.
