ISLAMABAD: This is with reference to the article “The life of a working woman” by Javed Chaudhry (September 25). I would like to express my strong offence at the content of the said article. Not only did it appear to be sensationalist in nature, but the title of the column and the ensuing contents sent out a wrong message about working women everywhere. Generalisation is one thing, but to group all women as in the article is highly chauvinistic and narrow-minded. In essence, what the writer did was say that 'working women' are susceptible to being blackmailed and bullied into physical relationships and prostitution. I would also question the credibility of the person he mentions in the narrative, since most of the facts don't seem to add up.
I would request you to please review the content you print and ensure that it's not merely some 'masala' news story that you're printing, and refrain from giving articles such titles.
