Khawaja, other PTI supporters will serve party better by demanding action from PTI leadership against the legislator.
ISLAMABAD: This is with reference to Mani Khawaja’s article “Stop the PTI bashing, please” (June 22). Mr Khawaja appears upset by public condemnation of the demand made by a PTI lawmaker to release Mumtaz Qadri, who has not only confessed to killing the former governor of Punjab, Salmaan Taseer, but continues to show no remorse for committing the heinous crime. Mr Khawaja’s defence that the comment was “personal” is feeble and factually incorrect. No comment can be excused as “personal” if it is made on the floor of the National Assembly by a member of the legislature. Instead of venting his frustration on the justified public outrage, Mr Khawaja and other PTI supporters will serve their party better by demanding action from the PTI leadership against the legislator. I hope Mr Khawaja is equally angry with the PTI for its criminal silence on the legislator’s damning comment.
