The talk shows on Pakistani television, in my opinion, are meant for the lowest common denominator.
MELBOURNE: This is with reference to Kamran Shafi’s piece “’No issue’, indeed!” (June 21). Hats off to Mr Shafi for deciding not to share stage with someone like Zaid Hamid. I have no idea why the Zaid Hamid bandwagon gets so pedalled around and how the producers and directors of a quality media house like Dawn would have to stoop so low so as to invite him and his ramblings to ramp up the ratings. The talk shows on Pakistani television, in my opinion, are meant for the lowest common denominator and the loudest, weirdest and the wackiest steal the show and ratings.
