LAHORE: After the general elections, the US manoeuvring in Pakistan in the form of the intensified frequency of drone attacks and USAID advertisements, simultaneously, is quite visible. The USAID is a unique programme in Pakistan in the sense that it spends a substantial portion of its funds in media publicity campaigns. Many people in the country often criticise and object to this programme on various grounds.
Unlike them, I have just one objection to it and that is merely a technical one. Its logo bears two shaking hands. Instead of that, it would be appropriate to represent it by two hands — one upper hand and another lower hand, with the upper hand giving and the lower hand taking from it.
