Fauzia Kasuri’s fate (II)

Letter June 05, 2013
I think Ms Kasuri should be smart enough to not join the PML-N.

KARACHI: Fauzia Kasuri comes across as someone who is quite naive about how politics works. But as a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) voter, I feel that the party that has emerged post-elections is far from the party that Imran Khan started out with — the one that Fauzia Kasuri was an integral part of. Virtually all of PTI’s top-tier leadership now consists of career politicians, who will be chasing that elusive ‘high’ of power for the rest of their lives. It is true that compromises are part and parcel of politics, but how much is too much?

But with that said, I think Ms Kasuri should be smart enough to not join the PML-N. If a suitable role for her does not emerge within the PTI, she should step out of politics and try to serve the country in some other capacity.
