ISLAMABAD: Many Pakistanis are surprised over the demand of Imran Khan that Nawaz Sharif strike down drones. No one can condone the killing of innocent citizens by drone attacks. However, many militant leaders responsible for the planning of suicide attacks and other subversive activities in Pakistan have been killed by drones.
Furthermore, most of the fighter jets and sophisticated weaponry needed to shoot down the drones is supplied by the United States itself. In this scenario, what will be the consequences of shooting down the drones? The option to convince the United States to restrict the use of drones appears to be more logical.
