Relying on the JI

Letter May 17, 2013
The alliance between PTI and JI looks completely non-natural.

KARACHI: This is with reference to the story “Coalition formation: PTI to retain K-P education ministry, JI to get finance” (May 17). To me, the alliance between the PTI and the Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) looks like a completely non-natural alliance. The JI, as a party, has never delivered in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa or elsewhere. It has a very specific agenda, which is clearly different from the PTI’s. The PTI should actually retain both, the education and the finance ministries, as well as all other important ministries as it is the leading party in the province. In my opinion, it will not be able to deliver if it depends too much on the JI.
