he government must take serious steps to send the IDPs back to their homes and rehabilitate them in their new lives.
ISLAMABAD: This is with reference to the story “Life after rape: Not a victim, but a survivor” (May 15) by Kiran Nazish. Each line of this story depicts the miseries of the internally displaced persons (IDP) and their helplessness when it comes to protecting their dignity while living in a single tent. We can read this account and sit back in our rooms but we must instead think about the sort of memories the IDPs will pick from the life they are leading right now and what type of respect the rape victim and her daughters will have in their hearts for all men. Enough is enough. The government must take serious steps to send the IDPs back to their homes and rehabilitate them in their new lives.
