Education emergency

Letter May 16, 2013
Not even a single mainstream party claims to be a "party of the poor".

DUSSELDORF, GERMANY: This is with reference to your editorial “Education emergency” (May 15). What the editorial is saying is true, but the timing is not right. There is hardly any mainstream party that addresses the most burning issues in society: class contradictions and exploitation. Not even a single mainstream party claims to be a “party of the poor”. Since the problem of education affects the poor the most, we should not be surprised that no attention will be paid to education.
