In what way will Imran be worse than President Asif Ali Zardari, Yousaf Raza Gilani and Raja Parvaiz Ashraf?
BOSTON: Regarding Kamran Shafi’s statement that Imran Khan will be an unmitigated disaster for the country, I wonder what exactly the writer thinks we have had in this country for the past five years. In what way will Imran be worse than President Asif Ali Zardari, Yousaf Raza Gilani and Raja Parvaiz Ashraf? It is partisan support such as this which allows feudal rule to survive and flourish in this country. Feudal rule has now been deeply implanted into urban Pakistan and is getting stronger by the day. The thuggish rule that we have been through for the five past years has been made possible precisely because political loyalties are always kept above what may be good for the nation and the country. Mr Shafi’s article is a good example of this.
