Why our music channels need to die

KARACHI: This is with reference to the article “Why our music channels need to die” by Omar Bilal Akhtar (September 22). Our music channels are just busy showcasing the latest gossip, trends and Bollywood tunes. The idea behind setting up a music channel should ideally be to cover the music scene in Pakistan. Unfortunately, most of the VJs are fine as far as looks are concerned but seem to have nothing in their heads, so to speak. And their knowledge of music and music trends and developments worldwide is by and large very thin. Music is one thing binds many of us and in that context I would appeal to the managements of all music channels in the country to disseminate intelligent information on music.
