During the Lal Masjid crisis, GEO TV appointed itself as the mediator of the dispute and complicated the situation.
VERMONT, US: Excellent critique by Mr Fulton. I had the opportunity to meet the CEO of Geo recently while he was finishing his graduate degree at Harvard and questioned the self-congratulatory nature of his channel’s coverage. During the Lal Masjid crisis, the channel appointed itself as the mediator of the dispute and greatly complicated the situation. And then we have the unresolved case of Hamid Mir’s alleged phone recording? What happened to that news story? Self-censorship perhaps?
