Ban on pillion riding

Letter April 02, 2013
Pillion riding has been banned, but there seems to be no positive impact of it.

KARACHI:

I would like to draw the attention of the authorities concerned towards the ban on pillion riding in Karachi. Pillion riding has been banned ever since the Abbas Town tragedy occurred, but there seems to be no positive impact of this ban. Almost every day, many innocent citizens of Karachi are still being killed by terrorists. Because of this ban, people have been suffering a lot — especially students, who often make use of pillion riding to get to their institutes since, more often than not, they cannot afford to travel alone or use public transport on a regular basis.

I would like to request the departments concerned to undo this ban and provide some relief to the people of the city.
