MASSACHUSETTS, US: This is in reference to Imran Khan’s article “Pakhtunwali and the Taliban” (September 20). Thank you for putting forth an oft ignored fact. This reality of Taliban as separate from Pakhtun codes of conduct should have been clarified long ago. Muslims in the West are persecuted under an umbrella label of terrorism, and the same kind of a mindset persecutes Pakhtuns within Pakistan. Victims are deemed responsible because blaming the victim is the easy way out. It must be challenged.
