DELHI: This is with reference to Sara Ali’s article of March 28 titled “Is there light at the end of the tunnel?”
Democracy in Pakistan has been a rather evasive prospect and it is only this time after almost sixty-six years that an elected government has been able to complete its entire five-year term. The elections scheduled for May 11 will hopefully usher in a new beginning for the country. The next government will have its work cut out for it, and will have to focus its energies on fighting major challenges such as poverty and unemployment, and terrorism and extremism. I wish the country the best of luck as it goes ahead and chooses a new representative leadership in the coming weeks.
