The committee needs to improve its performance, especially since its expertise is called upon only twice a year.
ISLAMABAD: With reference to the article “Asking for the moon” by Lt-Gen(retd) Asad Durrani (September 17), one felt that the satire was in bad taste. The sense of deprivation that is felt by many in Balochistan is not something that should be made fun of and I think the tone used in the article was slightly inappropriate.
Having said that, the general’s take on the performance, or rather lack thereof, of the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee is valid. The committee needs to improve its performance, especially since its expertise is called upon only twice in a given year.
