TURBAT:
Ata Shad Degree College in Turbat lacks a sufficient number of computers on its premises, along with some other colleges of Balochistan, like Government Degree College, Quetta, Government Polytechnic Institute, Quetta, Government Degree College, Panjgur, etc. Nonetheless, in other provinces of Pakistan, the majority of colleges and universities are equipped with computer laboratories with internet facilities. However, colleges in Balochistan are ignored. These colleges provide the only hope for the poor people of the province, who cannot afford to go to far-off areas for studies.
Insufficient computer facilities have caused major problems at Ata Shad Degree College, especially for those students pursuing degrees in Computer Science. With the increasing importance of information technology (IT) the world over, the number of students desiring to go into this field is on the rise but the state of affairs at Ata Shad Degree College has forced students to select other fields. The same is true for many other colleges in Balochistan. This will eventually result in the province hardly producing any IT specialist, which will be a loss for the people of Balochistan.
The government must provide well-equipped computer laboratories with internet facilities in every college of Balochistan so that students do not face difficulties while pursuing their education.
