If Sarfaraz Ahmed doesn’t do well in the third and final Test against South Africa, he should be dropped.
KARACHI: Pakistan cricket team’s selectors chose wicketkeeper Sarfaraz Ahmed over Adnan Akmal for the tour of South Africa. Many former cricketers have criticised this decision since Akmal had been a regular member of the Test team since 2010 and was playing reasonably well. In the first two Tests of the South African tour, Sarfaraz Ahmed has yet to make even 15 runs in any innings. In the first Test, he made a two and a six but was able to take five catches. In the second match, he scored 13 and five, and took two catches.
If we compare Ahmed’s domestic career with Akmal’s, we can see that the former’s record is far better as he averages 40.97, while Akmal averages 26.12. However, the latter’s form at the international level has been better. If Sarfaraz Ahmed doesn’t do well in the third and final Test against South Africa, he should be dropped.
