State of infrastructure

Letter February 18, 2013
Millions of people living in upper and lower Sindh districts have no access to transport and communication services.

ISLAMABAD: The role infrastructure plays in a country’s development is crucial. Take the example of Sindh, where the state of rural infrastructure in particular is in a pathetic condition. Millions of people living in upper and lower Sindh districts have no access to transport and communication services, or potable water, affordable quality healthcare and education and training.

The provincial government is about to complete its five-year term but the state of infrastructure has alarmingly deteriorated in the province. Had the provincial government done something about it, the residents of Sindh wouldn’t have been living in the abysmal conditions that they are at present.
