Flamboyantly dressed anchor-persons and their guests clad in the latest fashions were appealing for a simple Eid.
ISLAMABAD: This is in reference to the article ‘New clothes for this Eid?” by Ammara Farooq Malik (September 11). The president and the prime minister made an appeal that the nation should celebrate Eid frugally this year given the disaster caused by the recent floods in Pakistan.
It seems that most people did not pay heed to this appeal. Most television channels were sporting flamboyantly dressed anchor-persons and their guests clad in the latest, fashion designer wear. And the irony was that they were telling ordinary Pakistanis to celebrate Eid in a simple manner.
