NIDERRAU, GERMANY: This is with reference to the editorial “Fanning extremism” (September 9). It scares me to think that perhaps in the a party thought to be sympathetic to the Taliban might come to power. The fact is that our minorities need protection from such extremists.
We condemn the pastor wanting to burn the Holy Quran in Florida and yet we treat our own minorities in an unfair and unjust manner. We need to rise above the hatred and show tolerance towards our own minorities. Peaceful protests should be more than enough to show to the world that a majority of Pakistanis are not going to kill innocent people because somebody far away has said something as foolish as wanting to burn the Holy Quran.
