I would like to make a suggestion to the donors in reference to the rehabilitation of flood victims.
KARACHI: I would like to make a suggestion to the donors in reference to the rehabilitation of flood victims. Instead of distributing cash or food, why not fund the construction of roads, schools, hospitals, bridges and so on. And in this, the people who have been displaced could be used as labour and paid for their services. That way the infrastructure so badly destroyed by the floods will be rebuilt and those displaced by them will have something to do — and earn some much-needed income in the process.
