KARACHI: This is with reference to Dr Riffat Hassan’s article “Men and Women” (September 11). She has rightly pointed out the misconception that ‘hur’ is not a term used only for young beautiful maidens; it also refers to young masculine men.
However, since we live in a male-dominated society, this detail is left out from the sermons given by our clerics. Moreover, our primary concern should not be about being able to meet ‘hurs’ in the afterlife. Is that alone the only reason for us to be good in this life?
