MOMBASA, KENYA: This is with reference to Rasul Bakhsh Rais’ article “Religion and people” (January 22). The analysis that Mr Rais has presented is an interesting and informative one. However, the conclusion that he has drawn towards the end of his piece, about the farcical drop scene of Dr Tahirul Qadri’s ‘revolution march’, is an especially intriguing one, where he states that the ‘evil’ and ‘saviour’ joined hands, laughed together and declared victory of ‘democracy’. This conclusion by Mr Rais shows clearly that in Pakistani democracy, evil is hand in gloves with the forces of good.
