ISLAMABAD: Homes for senior citizens are established all over the world for those who have no one to look after or care for them. On December 17, the Senate unanimously passed a resolution recommending to the government to establish shelter homes for senior citizens and to take special steps to create awareness among the people for the respect of the elderly. The shelter homes should have facilities such has mosques, libraries, walking parks, on-call doctors, nurses and so on, and allow those who reside in them to engage in activities such has reading and writing.
