UK visa office in Islamabad

Letter December 20, 2012
Pakistanis pay a handsome amount for even a 6-month visa, they can make the experience of applying a bit more pleasant

ISLAMABAD: I live opposite the visa office of the British High Commission in Sector G-9. Although they have plenty of land in the Diplomatic Enclave to carry on their business, they have selected Sector G-9 Markaz, a heavily populated area in Islamabad, where there are no parking facilities. Leaving aside all the danger that this creates for the safety of life of ordinary people, during the day time the place looks more like Raja Bazaar. I would like to ask how the High Commission managed to obtain permission to accept visa applications by having an office in this sector.

Pakistanis pay a handsome amount for even a six-month visa to the UK and in any case, the majority is rejected. At the very least, the British High Commission can make the experience of applying a bit more pleasant.
