Perhaps, only way forward would be to educate ourselves since it is usually best way to fight intolerance, bigotry.
JUBAIL, SAUDI ARABIA: I believe that when the President of the Press Council of India and a former judge of India’s Supreme Court, Markandey Katju, says that 90 per cent of Indians are ‘fools’, since most of them can be very easily exploited in the name of religion, he is speaking not only for India but for the whole subcontinent.
Justice Katju gave an example that one could incite religious riots in New Delhi for as little as two thousand rupees. Though Pakistan has not seen widespread communal violence, it has become infested with sectarian intolerance. Innocent people are being targeted only because they belong to a certain sect.
Perhaps, the only way forward would be to educate ourselves since a good education is usually the best way to fight intolerance and bigotry.
