It appears that reason and logic have nothing to do with the opposition to the Kalabagh Dam.
LAHORE: The hue and cry over the Kalabagh Dam in the Sindh assembly was mostly emotion and rhetoric and not one cogent argument was presented against its construction.
India has over 4,000 large and medium dams. It is at present going ahead with a mega dam on the Narmada river in the face of strong opposition from regional forces. China has 6,000 large and medium dams. It appears that reason and logic have nothing to do with the opposition to the Kalabagh Dam and the argument that Sindh will become a desert if it is built is not based on facts. It would be good if the media can bring some technical experts on this matter who can provide viewers with non-politicised factual data.
