The government should introduce a system whereby drug addiction can be checked in our colleges and universities.
LAHORE: I am a lecturer in a university and would like to draw your attention towards the critical issue of addiction. Smoking has become fashionable among the students and it is usually the first step towards the use of proper drugs. Recently, a student of mine died because of a drug addiction and his family is devastated — he was their only child.
Unfortunately, there is no one who is taking any steps on this issue and the university administration tends to stay out of such matters. The government should introduce a system whereby this habit can be checked in our colleges and universities. If that is done, precious lives may be saved.
