I request the govt to bring the pension of all retirees on par with salary of present-day ranks of serving personnel.
KARACHI: I am a retired PAF officer having completed my service in 1987, when my total salary was less than Rs4,000. My pension is calculated according to the last pay drawn and today, after 25 years of retirement, my total pension per month is around Rs6,000. In the scenario of skyrocketing prices of all daily items of use and rising utility bills, plus my advancing age coupled with expenses of children of marriageable age, one can imagine the condition of pensioners who retired over 20 years ago.
I, therefore, request the government and all concerned to bring the pension of all the retirees on a par with the salary of the present-day ranks of serving personnel so that relief can be given to those who served this country.
