ISLAMABAD: Despite the massive destruction caused by the storm Sandy, America will go into the presidential polls on November 6. This unfailing commitment to transfer of power strengthens the belief that Americans must have in their democracy. American policies and democratic system are not flawless but the US has set an example which others should follow. While I hate the predatory US behaviour in international affairs, I cannot but admire the uninterrupted and peaceful transfer of power it goes through every four years.
Do the extremists in our midst have any idea of how to hand over power from one regime to another peacefully? America has won almost all wars by the force of its democracy. May I ask Imran Khan how his dialogue partners in the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan, if he has any, will handle the process of succession from one government to the next?
