RAWALPINDI: To ensure maximum voting during elections, the postal balloting system can be introduced for those who cannot visit their hometowns to cast their votes, including those who are sick, those who are busy working, or those who are too old or too poor to afford travel, etc. A postal ballot paper can be issued to the voter by the local election office on production of an original CNIC and the voters list can then be marked online.
I hope the Election Commission of Pakistan examines this possibility in consultation with political parties.
