The only good news coming from the UK is that Younis Khan has served a legal notice to The Daily Telegraph.
LAHORE: The PCB's handling of complaints about impropriety regarding its players, selection of officials and the role of the board itself, has brought disgrace and shame to the nation. What is more disturbing is that the board allowed a group of players to gang up against Younus Khan, who along with few others stand up as role models, free from accusations of match-fixing or spot-fixing. The only good news coming from the UK is that Younis Khan has served a legal notice to The Daily Telegraph for wrongly including his name in the list of players who had engaged the controversial Majeed brothers as their agents. This is what differentiates the good from the bad, yet for the PCB Younus Khan is unacceptable — because he speaks the truth and was a thorn in the scheme of things by a group of players.
The PCB's selected team of tour officials, the manager, assistant manager, coach and security officer are responsible for their laxity in duty and failure to keep an eye on the players. It now transpires that the officials had no problem with the fact that some team members were close to both Majeed brothers. Who will hold the PCB accountable?
