Difference between Iran and Pakistan

Letter September 23, 2012
One of the key differences that I find between Iran and Pakistan is nationalism.

TEHRAN: This is with reference to Asad Rahim Khan’s article “On Pakistan and Iran relations” (September 20).

I am a Pakistani living in Iran for the past two years. I find that there is a difference between Pakistan and Iran in terms of culture, political views, literacy and history. Iranians today are very proud of their rich ancient history. That said, one of the key differences that I find between Iran and Pakistan is nationalism. Iranians may have differing views and ideologies and may debate and disagree on these issues among themselves, but they never criticise their country in front of others.
