Predicament of DHA Valley investors

Letter August 30, 2012
DHA has stopped sending newsletters which is giving rise to rumours.

ISLAMABAD: I invested in the DHA Valley, Islamabad in 2008 and paid all the installments for my plot in a timely manner. The DHA administration, at that time, used to send newsletters, which were more like reminders for payments, but now that practice has stopped. These newsletters, besides acting as reminders for payments, also provided information regarding the progress of the project, but now there is complete silence on the administration’s part. The last official communication by the DHA administration was about the deferral of the last installment in 2011.

This kind of silence on the part of the administration gives rise to rumours and in this case, all the controversy surrounding the project, involvement of Bahria Town and now, the Dadocha Dam, has given rise to rumours that the project may be cancelled partially. Despite repeated emails and calls to the DHA, Islamabad helpline, no definitive answer has been received. I would like to request the management at DHA, Islamabad and the top echelons of the Pakistan Army to kindly clarify the progress, as well as any impediments regarding the project because there are thousands of investors who have invested a lot of money in this project. Most of the investors are poor people since the plots were small and not too expensive. Please allay their fears regarding the project.
