Sectarian strife

Letter August 17, 2012
The way extremists act with no fear is clear indication of the state’s inability to protect its innocent citizens.

RAWALPINDI: This is with reference to your editorial “Another sectarian massacre” (August 17). It is a huge shame that our law-enforcement agencies, government and intelligence agencies have continually failed to deal with extremists/murderers, who it seems are hell-bent on eliminating all those who do not follow their version of faith.

The way these extremist groups act with no fear of being punished for their cruelties, is a clear indication of the state’s inability to protect its innocent citizens. Our lives in general, and lives of Shias, Ahmadis, Christians and Hindus in particular, are not safe in Pakistan anymore.
