Zulfikar Ali Bhutto clearly stated that it does not matter if parliament is not independent.
KARACHI: When the late Zulfikar Ali Bhutto presented the 1973 Constitution on April 10, 1973, he clearly stated that it does not matter if parliament is not independent, what is more important is that the Supreme Court’s independence should be safeguarded.
If Mr Bhutto’s statement is interpreted, it is obvious to everyone that the supremacy of the Supreme Court should not be compromised. I wonder what the PPP has to say about this statement made by the author of the 1973 Constitution.
