The young voter

Letter August 09, 2012
Our young people cannot choose the subjects they want to study.

TORONTO: This is with reference to Rasul Bakhsh Rais’s article “The young voter” (August 7). The writer believes that “activism of the youth may determine party fortunes” in the coming elections.

I beg to differ from this line of thinking. Our young people cannot choose the subjects they want to study, they cannot choose the profession they want to follow, they cannot choose a life partner of their choice, but many people seem to think that Imran Khan is so unique and inspirational that he will make these young people break all shackles, rebel against their parents and society, vote for the PTI and change the country’s fortunes.
