Electricity supply in Peshawar َ

Letter August 09, 2012
Feeder supplying power to phase-III is heavily overloaded as it also supplies electricity to various other localities.

PESHAWAR: The phase-III zone of Hayatabad, one of Peshawar’s premier localities, is a gateway to the city. Electricity is supplied to phase-III from the university grid station located at Danishabad, whereas all the other phases of Hayatabad get their electricity supply from the Hayatabad grid station. The feeder supplying power to phase-III is heavily overloaded as it also supplies electricity to various other localities of the city. This means that the residents of phase-III have to face frequent voltage drops and power outages.

It has been a long-standing demand of the residents of phase-III that electricity be supplied to it from the Hayatabad grid station instead of the university grid station. The chief executive officer of PESCO is requested to look into the matter and issue orders to the authorities concerned to make the necessary arrangements, which enable phade-III to be provided electricity through the Hayatabad grid station. This will save the area’s residents from frequent power outages.
