KARACHI: This is with reference to the special report titled “Income disparity: The very uneven rise in Pakistani incomes” (July 30). This report on income and consumption patterns in Pakistan is a commendable effort. To mine useful data that currently sits in government offices without any purpose and bringing it into the public domain is a worthwhile attempt.
The quality of analysis could have been more reader-friendly and better, but as a first attempt, your staff deserves a pat on the back. I hope you will continue to encourage and task them to do more data-mining and analysis on issues of public interest.
