Forget the government, how on earth is one to convince one’s own family members and servants to conserve water?
LAHORE: This is with reference to Salman Rashid’s article “Water” (July 29). I truly hope and pray that the writer is not a lone voice crying in the wilderness-to-be. The huge amounts of this precious life-giving liquid, which we waste everyday, will surely come back to haunt our thirsty children a few years down the line. Forget the government, how on earth is one to convince one’s own family members and servants to conserve water? I have been trying and failing to do so for years. Maybe if your newspaper and Mr Rashid were to use Facebook to start a ‘Save Water’ campaign among young people, we might save our future generations. If there is anyone who could do it, it has to be the youth of Pakistan.
