Stop waiting for Superman

Letter July 28, 2012
Things will improve once Pakistanis learn to coexist peacefully responsibly rather than waiting for Superman.

ISLAMABAD: This is with reference to Arif Rafiq’s article “Stop waiting for Superman” (July 28). I believe that once the country’s common citizens develop a feeling of belonging and responsibility towards Pakistan, things will start improving automatically. But this process will take time; 65 years is a very short duration in history. Let us assume that things will improve for this country, perhaps, not in our lifetime, but maybe in 50 years or so. The priority of the next government should be to keep the system and the country intact. Things will gradually improve once Pakistanis learn to coexist, peacefully and responsibly, rather than waiting for Superman.
