LAHORE: This is with reference to Tazeen Javed’s article “The frivolous and inane” (July 23). The writer talks about the “bizarre legislation” and the “frivolous debates” that are carried out in the Punjab Assembly.
I would like to point out that at least there is some sort of debate in the Punjab Assembly over certain issues. Just look at the state of affairs in the assemblies of Sindh and Khyber-Pakhtunhwa where there is virtually no opposition, while the Balochistan Assembly is a joke. The writer may also want to write about the recent tussle in the Sindh Assemby held between Shazia Marri and Marvi Rashdi over the use of excessive makeup.
